“The first time I approached my husband about having a doula, his response was “What, you don’t think I can handle this myself.” As delivery day got closer and became more of a reality, Randy approached me asking “Now, what’s a doula again?” For our delivery, Randy and I wanted someone who would support him while he supported me, and that is exactly what Amber offered. My husband lovingly referred to Amber as his doula, not mine. She offered him suggestions when he was not sure how to best support me and empowered him with information to assist him in advocating for me though the delivery process. She was always respectful of his desires and role. We also feel that Amber’s encouragement helped us to avoid several undesired interventions. Amber’s gentle and calm demeanor was a comforting presence during my entire labor. I’m not sure we would have been able to do it without her. I firmly believe everyone needs an Amber.”

“Amber’s knowledge about childbirth and breastfeeding was invaluable during our daughter’s birth. She was very attentive during labor and used several techniques to help me cope with my contractions. Having her there helped me stay calm and focused throughout my labor. Our daughter had to be checked out by the NICU team before I could hold her; Amber stayed with me and held my hand so that my husband could be with our daughter. Amber is a wonderful doula and I would highly recommend her.”
